They SUCK...but...I will have surgery and I WILL recover.
MCL completely torn. ACL almost completely torn. PCL severe strain.
So begins the road to recovery.
Matty and the Beauties took Mommy to practice tonight. I needed to say hello and get a sniff of that "derby stank." I told myself to take a deep breath, but, it was gonna happen. the tears flowed. Hugs were great. (Sweaty hugs from Deadwards always rock!) It's been a week and I am already missing my girls. They have been taking good care of me and our tummies.
Big THANK YOUS! It means the world to me to have such wonderful peeps in my life!

Hey, I am really sorry about the injury. 15 years ago I tore my acl, meniscus and cartilage. Honestly I recommend just getting a really good custom fit knee brace from your sports med doc. My dad worked for Ge his entire career and was very good friends with most of the sport med/ortho and radiologists. They told him straight up that surgery is overrated. You have a very high chance of re injury and each surgery is harder to recover from. I did derby fine with a good brace. A lot of people report having sever pain forever after surgery, having tear outs every year and more. I have had my share of my knee loosing stability and twisting...not fun but once the swelling goes away i am up and about just fine again. These docs I had, some of the best in the country basically told me to wait until I HAD to have surgery, meaning something like a total knee replacement. Sports and general activity is very hard after surgery.
You can have a sweaty hug from me anytime! LOVE YOU.
